What pressures do teenagers today have to put up with? In this essay I will discuss some of the issues involved in the life of the everyday teenager.

The most important issue for girls is weight. For many girls weight is something they think about everyday, also girls do not often eat because they think they are over weight, and when they do eat the have the smallest portions they could possibly have. So why do girls want to be so thin? The majority of girls think that boys like girls who are as skinny as Super Models but generally, boys don't. When I walk past a girl in town who is so skinny that you can see her bones my friends and I think it is disgusting and would not consider going out with her. This brings it down to popularity which is another issue, but even then, thousands of girls starve themselves because they think it will make them lose weight quickly, but what they don't realise is that it is a balance between healthy eating and exercise. I think that you should be the way you are and if boys don't like you then they are not the write person for you.

I think that the second hardest pressure is looking right. For example, you can't have last year's hairstyle and you must be wearing the latest pair of trainers from the most expensive shop, but people they just can't afford it. This mainly is the competition between girls to look the best, and sometimes this can lead to fighting and bullying. Girls would prefer to wear the highest healed shoes they can find and be fashionable than wear a nice pair of comfortable shoes, which wont cause them back problems in the future.
