Introduction

Recruitment plan using internal and external sources Introduction: In this task I need to outline reasons for vacancies occurring and identify how two organisations plan recruitment using internal and external sources. In this assignment it has already given one organisation and I have taken the other which is Kershaw Leonard. Reasons for vacancies: Employees leave their job, because they can find another place where the company will pay them better salary. Employees leave for training to learn more about the department they work. Employees may have got a suitable place for work. There are different reasons for an organisation to recruit someone; Employee leaving, Increased volume of business, Different work, Maternity cover, Sickness. The other reason for employees leave is because of sickness, a time away from work caused by illness, injury, or other form of incapacity, which means that an employee is medically unfit for work. It depend how long the person is going to be off work. Person may be recruited to cover another employee when they go on maternity leave and their work needs to be done by someone else. Conclusion

Recruiting new employees- whether it is being done directly or through an agency takes a long time and can take a lot of money. This is because time is needed both to outline the vacancy, the type of person required, the advertising and then there is the selection process itself. Each of these stages takes time and if an applicant is already working for another organisation they will have to work their notice. The notice period required will depend on the type of job, but it could be anything from one week to six months. It is not possible to fill a vacancy when the current employee leaves it may cause a problem for an organisation and so damage its customer service, its reputation or results. If an employee is recruited from within the organisation this is less likely to happen and they may be able to move more quickly to their new post. Cost is another factor when considering external sourcing. The cost of recruitment should be measured in two ways: the cost of advertising, or the fee that must be paid to an agency for recommending an employee, and also the opportunity cost. Money that is spend on external recruitment cannot be spent elsewhere in the business so this is an opportunity cost for that organisation. ?? ?? ?? ??
