Task 1.1 Reasons Why M&S may need to Recruit new Staff > For expansion reason: If M&S hope to or want to expand their shop they will need to recruit new staff, so that the new staff they recruit can be involved in the day to day running of the new store they just opened. > To cover shortage of staff: Shortage of staff occurs if for example workers are on sick, maternity leave or on pregnancy leave. Therefore, new employees will need to be recruited. > Diversification: If an organisation diverse into providing other types of goods or services and their current employees doesn't have the skills to provide these. After candidates have been interviewed they should be provided with a contract that shows the terms and conditions of M&S. Task 1.3 The Documentations That Are Involved In The Recruitment Process of M&S There are different documentations that are required by law to be provided when an employer is recruiting employees. Some of these are: > Written and signed Contract by both the employer and the employee to be used as reference in case of a breach in the terms of contract by one or the two parties involved. > NI (National Insurance) number is to be provided by the employee at the time of employment. This is because after an individual is paid for work done, the government get taxes from that and then save some money for the worker's pension. > Bank details needs to be provided so that money can be paid directly into the worker's account. Some organisations pay their employees by cheque so it might not be required. > Passport might be required identity confirmation and also to confirm the employees is allowed to work legally within the country.
