I will be comparing men in black and terminator two (MIB) and (T2).

In sci-fi movies the actual technology used to make the movies has advanced dramatically which makes sci-fi films even better with computer generated images (CGI).

Main part

MIB and T2 are both sci-fi films I can tell this because of generic conventions in MIB the storyline is based around aliens living on earth it is then followed up by two humans having to save the earth. In T2 the storyline is based around a terminator being sent back in time from the future to save a little boy from another terminator who is trying to kill him the story unfolds to tell us that the little boy is supposed to save the future.

MIB could be considered a Sci-fi comedy this is because of comedy conventions I found in the movie in MIB there were generic conventions like laughter and silly behaviour misfortune and funny appearance.T2 could be called a sci-fi action this is because while analysing the film I found conventions for action like weapons a heroes and villains and explosives.

While analysing these two films I noticed that there were some conventions that they shared for example they both share the action conventions weapons and heroes and villains. I also noticed that there were some conventions that they didn’t share like happy endings they both had rather confusing endings where they lost friends as in MIB where agent j loses agent k as a friend when k decides to be neutralised (lose memory) and in T2 the john connor loses the t100 (Arnold swarzeneger) who he has come to look up to as a father figure. So they both have kind of sad endings but looking to the future they turned out happy because if the sacrifices weren’t made everybody would be unhappy if they were still alive.

 In the movies some characters have similarities some of the characters are the t100 and agent k they both have all the knowledge they are both the wisest, they are also both the heroes.
