Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings

Purpose:

Film trailers are made to introduce the film, and make the audience want to see the film. They receive money from this, by advertising the film. Trailers are there to try and entice the audience into wanting to watch the whole film.

        Trailers give information like; title of the film, genre, basic storyline, actors and usually, favourite parts of the film that are exciting.

        Trailers or film information are usually found in many different places, such as; television, radio, newspapers, internet, at cinemas before other films and even on flyers or posters placed around.

Genre

You can tell that this film is based with many different genres, these are; fantasy, action and adventure.

        You can tell this at many places in the trailer, as it shows many different creatures or monsters, these being all mythological such as an orcs, ogres and devils. Furthermore, you can work out that this is also an adventure and action film because of their travels to many different places, and action, because of the battles and fights that take part in the trailer.

        From this type of film, you can expect to see lots of battles or wars raging on, but also a good fantasy and adventure storyline, where weird but wonderful things take place and mythological creatures may appear.

This film is aged at all ages, apart from the very young, as it has creatures in that could be frightening. It would appeal maybe more to people who really enjoy fantasy, adventure or action films, as there are large battles that take place, which they can see extremely enjoyable.
