Smoking is a supposedly "cool" thing to do; when in all reality its not. In the 50's or 60's most people didn't know that smoking was dangerous for themselves and people around them. So the become the generations to make smoking a popular thing to do. Smoking is an extremely unattractive thing to do. Smoking especially cigars smells. Have you ever been at the movies or out to eat, and then you smell cigarette or cigar smoke? It makes you want to walk out and stop eating. ...read more.

Conclusion

A smoking ban would reduce litter. Although not a primary argument in support of a public smoking ban, it is still a convincing one. To smoke or not is a personal decision that we must make ourselves. But when you go out with your family and friends and you do no smoke, you should not have to smell smoke. Banning smoking in public will decrease second hand smoke and the littering caused by cigarette butts. And personally I believe if you ban smoking in public then people would not feel like they have to be popular and smoke. Therefore the number of smokers will decrease as well.
