However, in our modern society the essence of borrowing does come of age in correlation to ours. The more we grow, the more we need the support of society as a whole, as this determines the probability of our success. From our positive character we try to show, in the interest of our world; to the negative traits we have as human beings; that somehow encourage the deficit of value to others. Each and every single day our lives are nothing but a complex mathematical dilemma.
How do we face it? Well, it is only fair enough that our responsibilities should coincide on our capabilities. Like a computer, if the user demands more tasks, the processing unit should be fast enough to do them. Otherwise, like a machine, we malfunction. Adequacy is the key.
Unlike machines though, we have senses. We do not only encode instructions; we also try to develop them. We dream, we strive, we thrive, we fall, we stand, and no one can stop us, no one can just pull the plug.
BUT, to do all these, we need the necessary resources. It’s not just our health and wealth that is concern, it also involves on the knowledge we need to use them. Education is vital. It prepares us. Any ideas how we attain it all? We ask our mentors: parents, teachers, and our government, to lend them to us. From this, we deeply ask them to invest in us, to give the benefit of a doubt, to prove ourselves that we can be better than generations before.
What if they would not allow this? Should we count ourselves unlucky of falling in to the time where they decide that we should be stopped? No! It is our right! Even though they have done this on the grounds of law, it doesn’t mean they can suppress us on the grounds of morality. Promises of compensations maybe given from them, but to tell you the truth it can only lead to long term loss; to both sides.
A friend of mine told me, it is no longer worthwhile to proceed to further education. She expressed that there is no point in us investing in institutions that would not guarantee us a job, a life. She would prefer to allow herself to be stopped at a point where she could find practicality and simplicity. I do understand why, the fact that Universities are exclusive enough, then the government plans to raise the piñata higher. It is absolutely disgusting!
How can we develop ourselves now, for our future? If adequacy and education are keys to this, then we do have an imbalance on our hands, already creeping in our daily lives.
More or less, this has been the trend, the norm. But do we really need to ‘save for’ our future, or save our future? Without their support, we might not have the capacity to do both. I’d prefer a world where we plunge in depth, not in debt. Wouldn’t you?
