The triptych poems in the anthology 'High Windows' differ in lots of different styles of writing poems.

First of all, the main obvious difference in the three poems is, that the first poem 'To the Sea' is about a tradition that is done annually, whereas the second poem 'High Windows' is about being on your own, and finally the last poem 'The Explosion' is about people dying and love. The message that each of these poems give us, all differ from each other. Also the themes that each of the poems use, differ. 'To the Sea' uses mainly a particular way of living as a main theme. Also the poem uses traditional English way of living as a main theme. Whereas 'High Windows' uses lowliness as a main theme. And The Explosion uses quite a lot of main themes including, destructive effects of the time, death and relationships. In all of the poems the themes that are used are typical themes that Larkin uses in other poems, but the three poems do not share the same theme at all.
