Body temperature may also rise slightly due to the excess energy that turns into heat as a waste product. The way that the body reacts to these changes is through negative feedback loops, as shown above. Activity Theory- Havighurst (1964) completely disagreed with the social disengagement theory and he argued that except for inevitable changes in biology and health older people are the same as middle-aged people with the same psychological and social needs. Hopefully in the long Bridie went back to being a safe and caring environment with people that respect her right to care. What should have been done in this case to reduce the risk of abuse can include the use of CRB checks, presumably Bello was checked out prior to being employed, however if not then this is something that should have been done in order to prevent something like this happening to a service user. Another way to prevent this from happening could have been regular observations, if Bello had oberservations on a regular basis then that could have prevented the abuse from happening.

When a person is diagnosed with asthma these tubes are inflamed. This inflammation makes the airways terribly swollen and sensitive. Due to this the inflammation starts reacting to certain substances that enter the airway. Once the airway starts reacting to these substances our muscles tighten up, as a result of this the airways are narrowed so less air enters to the lungs. In the case of the staircase, the fact that there is no handrail on the stairs means that people may be more susceptible to trip or fall down them. This hazard would especially be a risk to those with mobility issues, balance issues, partially sighted/blind people, and the elderly. Next to the reception there is an unlocked cupboard that the cleaners use when they clean the rooms. It is often left with the door slightly open and the chemicals in there visible to adults and children.

The installation of hand rails on the stairs will give elderly people, children, people with mobility issues, partially sighted people etc. something to hold on to in case they trip, which will reduce the risk of them falling down the stairs, and getting potentially seriously injured and having to go to hospital. The five types of abuse are; neglect, physical, emotional, sexual and domestic violence. Being able to identify abuse is important when your job is working with young people and children because as with every health and social care professional you have a duty of care of your service users, however young people and children are especially vulnerable and have laws that specifically protect them that were brought about because of major child abuse cases that happened in this country.
