8. Analyse the evidence which supports the need for practitioners to plan effectively.
Practitioners need to plan effectively to help with the daily running of the setting and the activities that take place within. When practitioners are planning, they need to ensure that what they have planned will meet and develop the care, learning and physical needs of the children in their care. The planning needs to also be of interest to the children; this can be achieved by carrying out observations to try and find out how the children prefer to learn and play. By doing this, the practitioners will find out what the children’s likes and dislikes are, and this can then be integrated into the planning which will allow the children to be more motivated, interested and involved in the activities; practitioners must plan activities that are able to be achieved by everyone, despite their abilities or special needs. For example, if the setting has a child that has a hearing impediment, then the practitioners should add to the planning that the activity should be more visual to ensure that the child can still be involved and take part.
