Extracts from this document...

Introduction

Specification For my project, I would be creating a system for a company which is called Automania (garage). I choose to design this system because I think the business is weak at keeping details of the products which are in stock. The Automania private limited company which is a garage and it is located in West Ealing, the company employs 5 employees and it has been running it business for 25 years. Also, it is a fast growing market. The company keeps a stock of products which are needs in the business. They check, the number of each product on stock and the products which needs to be ordered done manually. The manager (Mr. A.S.Mudhar), who keeps all records of the stocks. He declares that there are more paperwork has to be done and its time consuming and sometimes the product that they order will be undelivered because of misunderstanding of the address. In a business there are many calculations to be made; currently the owner is doing this manually which can lead to miscalculations if the calculations are not done accurately. Therefore, this creates a problem in the sense that the values calculated may not give a true figure. Another problem that can occur from calculating manually is that the process is time consuming. And this evidence clearly has shown in the questionnaire which I did. And he also, uses telephone to order any products which are limited in the stock. Now, he interested in using a computerised stock control system in the business. Mr. A.S.Mudhar has experience of using word processing software and he knows how to set up a simple spread sheet. Interview Before creating the excel I determined to interview the end user to expand my understanding of his current system and identify the user needs so, I can provide end user with clear documentation of the user requirement specification and it will also, will enable me to create the appropriate system for my end user. ...read more.
