Analysing Friend’s opening credits

The first thing that you will see in the opening credits of Friends is the title and as soon as the title appears the music will start to play. The music that will be playing is very bubbly and exciting, this connotes that all of the friends are bubbly people and this sitcom will be exciting. After the title appears you will see the friends swapping seats on a sofa, this may connote that the friends are happy to be around each other. Then we start to see very short clips of parts of their life’s showing their personalities to the tee. First off we see Rachael she is rushing around, flirting and she is also happy. We see Monica’s personality, she is very hyper and she falls down to the floor. We then see Phoebe’s personality she is very happy. Also there is Joey he’s dancing, having fun and just acting silly. Then Chandler, he is laughing and just joking around. Finally there is Ross he’s acting stupid, playing the bag pipes and at the end of his clips he undoes his tie, this might connote that he is a stressful person which he is. In the middle of those shots you will get clips of the friends together playing around. Also three of the friends fall down in there clips (Monica, Ross, Chandler) this might connote that they are trying to act like they are still kids at heart. There is a lot of canned laughter in the opening credits. The final shot in the opening credits is Rachael and Ross kissing this shows signs of romance in the sitcom. In the short view of the opening credits I believe that this sitcom would be suitable for 14 to 30 year old people.
