For those who do not have direct access to the Internet, it is very easy to do so. Almost all libraries have access to the World Wide Web as well as schools, friend’s houses and Internet cafes. Many people use the Internet for research, homework/coursework, gaming, communicating with others and help at work etc.

There are many of reasons why so many people use the Internet.

When looking for information there are hundreds of search engines, the more recognisable being Google, Ask Geeves and Lycos. These search engines search the World Wide Web for any information relating to your topic in a matter of seconds. Where as if you where to go to the library and research from books this could take hours. I use search engines all the time to find help with coursework, projects and general browsing. These search engines use links for you to be able to view the website that the information, sometimes these websites are from the other side of the world and are available to you, personally I think that the internet is a excellent invention that has revolutionised the way we live and interact with others let alone help teachers and students with work and planning (although it helps me a lot).
