The two newspapers I have studied containing the Zidane incident 2006 world cup are “The Sun” and “The Daily Telegraph”. On the July 9th 2006 Zidane head butted the Italian player in chest. France lost because of Zidane temper and Italy won the trophy.
There are two categories of newspapers: tabloid and broadsheet. Both nnewspapers frequently run the same stories, but their presentation, content and the language used often differ considerably. The main story/ stories appear on front page and continue on a later page. A tabloid paper has features of long headlines, informal language and larger print unlike a broadsheet paper which is longer; more detailed and focused on more political and world news. The Sun which is tabloid newspaper is more for the working class men and The Daily Telegraph which is broadsheet newspaper is written for the Middle class businessmen and women. They have different content as well, for instance the Telegraph is filled with business news and information while The Sun is has got less business news and more concerned with celebrities women. Also the sun has more advertisements and pictures. The Telegraph has fewer adverts, but it is a much more text-based paper. The Sun uses the colloquialism language where as the daily Telegraph use the ambitious language but some times they colloquialism words.
