Sound, Sound Effects, and Music for Computer Games

In this assignment I will be analysing the use of sound design and sound production in computer games.

Sound has been used in computer games from the, it is used to give the user a greater sense of being in or apart of the game world. By using sound we can create a 3d world for the user to feel more involve with the game. Modern games have not only sounds and effects but also soundtracks and theme tunes these give a much more intense fell to the game.

Sound in computer games can be split into 2 domains Diegetic and Non-diagetic we can then split these into 4 categories, and depending on where or how it happens in the game depends on how it is categorized.

Assassins Creed

Assassin’s creed is a historical fiction action-adventure open world stealth video game that is multi platform. The franchise began in 2007 with Assassins Creed, over the last 5 years they have gone on create another 5 games including Assassins creed 2, Revelations, Brotherhood and Assassins Creed 3. The technology used to create these games and there music is state of the art, The FX and soundtrack are very well put together giving the game a cinematic movie feel.
