Training and Fitness-Task 2

 In this part of my assignment I am required to design a six-week training programme for a selected client. The training programme will consist of different training methods and it will incorporate the principles of training.

Profile:-

Client- Stuart Whittaker

Age: 17    Sex: Male    Current Fitness: Good    Current Sport: Football    Other commitments: College, Work   Illness or Injury: None    Smoker: No

 Over the next six weeks Stuart is looking to improve his upper and lower body strength and aerobic endurance. To improve Stuart’s upper and lower body strength he will be doing numerous strength building exercises in which the FITT principles will be applied to make it harder. I will also apply the FITT principles to Stuart’s aerobic endurance training.

 Stuart’s strength training will consist of Pec deck, Bench press, Bicep curls, Calf raisers and Leg raisers (quads). He will do these 3 times per week on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

 His aerobic endurance training will consist of continuous training and Interval training. He will be doing continuous training on Monday and Interval training on Thursday. Saturday and Wednesday will be rest days because Stuart has work on those two days. I will be advising him to eat plenty of Carbohydrates and Protein on those days to repair his muscle and replenish his muscle glycogen stores.

Aerobic endurance

 I have chosen for Stuart to do continuous training for his aerobic fitness training because it will improve his aerobic fitness and it is a very good way of using up any unwanted body fat. I have also chosen for him to do interval training because football is a very stop-start game and you will sometimes be sprinting and then jogging for a while before you have to print again.
