The essay I am writing is about mobile phones and how they affect society

Some of the advantages of having mobile phones are things such as parents keeping in touch with their children, downloading information for different uses and keeping children occupied. The disadvantages include cameras being used to film happy slaps and people getting mugged on the streets for their phones. It has also been said that mobile phones can cause cancer and people can also use camera phones to take photos of people, especially children, without their consent. Mobile phones help  criminals to commit crimes because they are portable, hard to trace and easily disposed of.  Criminals can also ‘chip’ phones to make them even harder to track down.  Phones are also a major source of distraction in the classroom.

Altogether I think mobile phones are making society worse but they can be quite useful for some occasions. Are you for or against?
