Many other factors also support that Christianity is blind to its evils. Tons of society problems have arisen from Christian beliefs. Many wars have been fought over Christianity. Major wars include the Crusades (1095-1270 A.D.) and also World War II was fueled partially by Adolf Hitler’s Christian beliefs that all other religions are wrong. Discrimination is in large part a result of Christian laws. For example in the Catholic edition of the Bible, Leviticus chapter 18 verse 22 specifically states that homosexuality is a sin: “No man is to have sexual relations with another man; God hates that.” This statement causes discrimination of homosexuals. Leviticus chapter 39 tells you that if a fellow Israelite needs your help, then you should treat them well, but that it is ok to enslave those that are not Israelite. Many examples of sexism, which in turn also cause discrimination, are also found in the Bible. In the Christian religion, women are considered the source of original sin. In the story of creation, God forbids Adam and Eve to eat the fruit of the tree that gives knowledge of good and evil. Eve is later tempted by Satan and eats the fruit, and shares it with Adam. Other quotes from the Bible that support sexism include: “For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of man. For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.” (Corinthians Chapter 11 Verse 7)
As if discrimination wasn’t enough, the Christian faith has even more strikes against it. The leaders of the Christian faith didn’t want Christianity to be just a religion; they wanted it to be the only religion. The early Christian faith tried to accomplish this by making other religions seem evil, and scaring people away from them. Originally, the word “pagan” meant “country-dweller”, equivalent to the words “hick” and “redneck” that are used today. Since most of these country people practiced old, earth-based religions such as Wicca and Druidism, the Christian faith applied the word “pagan” to any non-believer of Christ.
The Christian faith spread the word that pagan religions were evil, and that they worshipped Satan. In fact, true pagan religions don’t even have an entity equivalent to the Christian Satan. The so-called “pagans” don’t need something to scare them into following their religion like the Christians do. They follow their religion by their own choice. Wicca is a religion that has been around for centuries. There are many different types of Wicca, but all have the same background when it comes to the religion. They believe in loving each other, and the faith is earth-based. Christians would have you believe that Wicca or any other non-Christ-believing faith worships Satan. This could not be further from the truth. Satan is the anti-god of the Christians, the controlling fear factor of their faith. True pagan faiths do not believe in this concept. Quotes from the Bible that support the Christian desire for dominance that utilizes the fear factor include: "For you shall worship no other god; for I the Lord tolerates no rivals." (Exodus 34:14) and “If you worship any other god than the True God of Heaven, then you have been deceived. If you are religious and following world religions, then you have been deceived. Let me warn you that unbelievers are among those who will have their part in the lake of fire.” (Revelation 21:8).
The Christian religion is responsible for many of society’s problems, and has been attempting to dominate the world’s religions for thousands of years. These problems are mainly caused by the misinterpretations of the Bible. The misinterpretations promote violence, wars, discrimination, sexism and more. These misinterpretations are the cause of Christians being blind to the evils of their religions, because of their narrow sighted faith and lack of accurate and or adequate education.
