HSBC has a call centre in Sheffield that is proposes to shut down and move the centre to Leamington Spa. This will inevitably lead to job losses at Sheffield, but HSBC propose to move 182 of their employees to Leamington Spa. It is expected that during the move that only 50% of the Sheffield workforce will move to Leamington Spa. The general census among employees and their families is that move is a mistake. In the short term the move does not seem to be wise, but in the long run it will improve efficiency and productivity at the HSBC Leamington Spa call centre. The move will also eliminate the cost of running the Sheffield call centre.
The move means that the call centre in Leamington Spa is going to have to cater for a large number of new employees. This means a lot more work for the human resources department.
The department firstly needs to arrange induction training for the new employees. They will need to set up times and appointments with the new employees to show
