Which are to develop new products such as cars, for example the new BMW M3. Also the research and development department of BMW improves existing products such as the BMW 1 series, which they improved to the BMW 3 series. They develop their new products by taking the best features from their old products, by this they keep the best features of their old products and improve the not so good features of their old products. The research and development department of BMW uses ICT to carry out the following jobs. Which are to design and make new cars for BMW, by using computer packages like CAD and CAM. CAD stands for computer aided design and CAM stands for computer aided manufacture. Finance Department The finance department at BMW deals with the money coming in and out of BMW, which is the income and expenditure. Plus it is responsible to pay wages and salaries to the employees of BMW. Plus they do after sale service, which is to provide the customer support on the product they bought. Department The administration and I.T. department of BMW carries out the following jobs. Which are to do all the clerical work for BMW, which is all the paper work of BMW. Also they do the cleaning of BMW, and they have to resolve all the health and safety issues of BMW. Plus they take care of all the IT and software at BMW, this is for them to keep the IT and software of BMW updated. Furthermore they handle all the security of BMW, this means they're in charge of securing everything of BMW, for example they copyright protected the BMW logo. They also keep the maintenance of BMW, which is them maintaining everything of BMW and keeping everything under control.
