Short haul daily activities for a cabin crew member
- Firstly, report to the crew room one hour before the flight
- Make sure that you check your mails and read any notices on the notice board
- Check safety and security updates
- Meet your staff and greet them
- Then, crew operates the flight and participates in the pre- flight briefing in which you have to answer the questions asked from you, for instance: regarding first- aid, new passenger on-board etc. if the crew member is unsure about the answer he or she will not be able to attend the flight
- After that carry out on-board security checks
- Check out full security like prior to passengers boarding
- Meet any pre-board passengers and any passenger with special requirements and assist.
- Meet the passengers and greet them
- Then, check passengers’ boarding cards for security
- Support in closing door procedure and arm slides of the plane
- Safety demonstrations are carried out
- Check that passengers and the cabin crew are secured for take-off and in due course cabin crew take their seats for take-off
- Passenger announcements for cabin services and in-flight entertainment
- Cabin crew prepares the bar
- Oven is put on
- Drink service is provided and sooner meals are provided as well
- Later tea and coffee service is offered
- Clear-in takes place
- Afterwards duty free service is available
- Then, crew have their meals
- Custom and immigration papers are distributed among the passengers
- Prepare and close bars for customs and count takings
- Cabin is cleared, cabin service is checked for landing and information is passed onto flight crew
- Then, crew takes seats for landing
- Once again assist in opening the door procedure and arm slides
- Assist passengers in disembarking
- Assistance is provided to the passengers with special requirements and ensures that they have assistance by the crew member at the destination.
- After that carry out landing security sweep to make sure passengers have not left anything on the plane
- Then, turn round duties which include catering and other services.
- Repeat the whole process again and then spread
- Board return flight
- Return to board room to participate in
- Finally, travel home to rest and to get ready for other day
