From the private sector I will be investigating The Carphone Warehouse PLC. The Carphone Warehouse is Europe's largest largest independent mobile phone retailer, with over 1,700 stores across Europe. They are based in the United Kingdom. The company was founded in 1989 with only �6,000. The business is in the private sector because it operates to make profits, and the company trades shares on the stock market. The website address is http://www.carphonewarehouse.com. The website invites online transactions. The core business activity are mobile phones and music accessory, others include home phone line and broadband service. From the public sector I will be investigating the BBC. The BBC was founded in 1922 and is the largest public broadcasting corporation in the world. The company sells second hand recycled goods from clothes to electronics. The company then provides a service to the unfortunate people hit by disasters and shortage crises all over the world, they supply food and clothing. Some of the good points of The Carphone Warehouse website are that it has a user friendly layout, with lots of useful links and buttons. The website has not got any horizontal scrolling; the website does not have a lot of pictures and a lot of information. The website has an online customer services which include contact details and helpline details, the company's helpline can be contacted by email or phone. They display network and manufactures helpline details, they also have a support centre information store in central London. Conclusion

There are a few similarities on the three website, all three websites have no horizontal scrolling and use flash software to create links and advertisement. All three websites have secure payment system with all three using Secure Socket Layer and Secure Electronic Transfer. All three have a neat layout with text boxes dividing the page up. There are also a few differences, the BBC and Oxfam website both start there information from the left and have lots of free space on the right. Whereas The Carphone Warehouse website has all their information centred and has empty spaces on both sides of the page.
