Task 5
Task 5 is to create a system that lets you find plants that fit certain height, width and light requirements. The system must be easy to use.
The software that I can use to create this particular system is Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel but Microsoft Access is better and more sufficient to use because it allows you to create Forms, Queries, Reports, and Macros, whereas Microsoft Excel doesn't have any features to allow you to do these particular tasks.
To do the task, first of all I will have to do the query, which will include the fields:
* Common name
* Maximum height
* Maximum width
* Flowering period
After doing the query I will then have to design the report, which will have the details of the plants that grow in particular light conditions. Then I will have to do the form and the macro. All this can be done on Microsoft Access and it cannot be done on Microsoft Excel, so this is the reason why I have chosen to do the task on Microsoft Access rather than on Microsoft Excel.
To do the query first of all I will have to go to the file "plant data" open it up and design the query using the fields Common Name, Max Height, Max Width, Flowering Period and Light Needed. These fields are already fixed in onto the computer.
