Create a system that lets you find plants that fit certain height, width and light requirements.

After this I will also have to do the macro which will be done by first of all going onto the macro file and then the action will basically be 'open query'. After this I camn do the report and form.

The report will contain of the garden centre name in capitals and font size 14. The logo will be placed next to the garden centre name and underneath the garden centre name the light conditions will be written so that customers know what light conditions the plants need.

Then under all this will be the plant names, max height and width and the flowering period for each plant.

The type of font that I will use are Times New Roman and Arial, I have decided to use these two types of font because these two fonts are the most common types of fonts used and also because they are clear so it will be easier for the customers to read the writing and understand it.

The second choice of design:

In this design of the report everything is the same except that in this one the logo of the garden centre is to the left hand side rather than on the right hand side.

Everything else remains the same as the first design option.

Third option design of report:

In this design of the report the things that have changed from the second are that the logo has moved to the right side again and that the light conditions is in larger font and between the garden centre name and logo. Another change is that the garden centre name has been typed on two lines rather than on one.

The final design that I have chosen to do for the report is the third design because to me it looks as to be the most appropriate and most suitable for the customers to read from and understand. Also the light condition is larger so it can be noticed very easily.

Next, is to do the design of what the form will look like. All forms will include of the garden centre name and logo and also a command button to run the macro. The font size of the title will be 16. There will also be information on the page of what to do, which will be written in size 12 or 14.

On the form there will also have to be a command button which will link the form to the report, using the macro. I can design the button so that it can do this.

The above two ideas of what the form could look like are the same except that the logo on the second design is on the left and the garden centre name is on the right, whereas on the first design the logo is on the right and the garden centre name is on the left.

From the above two designs I have chosen to do the first design because I think that it looks better with the plant house garden centre logo on the right side instead of the left side.

Implementation

Over the next few pages are the designs of my report and the form which have been designed and implemented. Please note that any blue lines on the paper are just printer errors and not part of the design.

Testing

To see if my system and know that it is correct and that it actually works I can test my system by finding plants less than or equal to 0.75m high and less than or equal to 1.00m wide. The plants must be able to grow in shade.

I can do this by using the query that I have made and also I can see if the system is correct by also making sure that the macro is correct and that the command button on the form works.

I have checked all this through and the teacher has also checked it and has said that the system is correct and working.

So now I can say that the system that I designed and produced was correct and that it worked, therefore the task that I had to complete was successful.

Evaluation

I think that my task was successful because the system worked and it was correct. Another reason why I think that the work that I have done was successful is because the system met all the desired outcomes and performance criteria, which included:-

* Everything to have the garden centre name and logo on it.

I met this performance criterion because both the form and the report had the garden centre name and logo on them.

* The light needed at the top

I met this desired outcome because the report had the light conditions on the top rather than alongside the other fields, which were common name, max width, max height and flowering period.

* Fit onto one side of A4

I also met this performance criterion because both the form and the report fitted onto one side of A4.

So overall I can say that I carried this task out well and that I met the performance criteria and desired outcomes. I can also say that this task was a success because the system actually worked and that was the main thing, but I feel just a little more time spent on this task would've made this task even better. But still I am pleased with what I have done to complete this task and undergo the many operations that were needed to fulfil this task and make sure that it was produced in the best way that was possible.
