Racists will agree with the statement because it makes them superior and gives them an advantage for being mean and cruel towards the people that they think are different because of their skin colour or place of birth. They think that killing people and having a negative attitude towards a group of people will maintain their identity. However, racism is not the only way to show the identity. There are other ways of showing identity between people such as education and culture. For example, sports, music, languages, manners, dress, behaviour.
It can’t be possible to stop racism but there are things that we can do about it. It can be possible to prevent it a little bit by having some respect for the differences of people. Therefore if people respect the contrasts and leave them as it is for everyones benefit not just for their happiness and don’t make it a big deal, we can count esteem as a solution for racism. Racists will still carry on with their negative opinion about a group of people but if that group of people ignores the fact, then they have a sixty percent chance of getting away with it. If we can also illegalise discrimination, stereotype and prejudice then people won’t get a chance to say their negative opinions freely.
Anti – semitism is one of the serious examples of racism. It is prejudice, discrimination and hatred against Jews and has plagued the world for centuries. The Holocaust resulted in the deaths of millions of Jews and the suffering of countless others. Anti-semitism is intolerable. Anti-semitism in Europe has increased significantly in recent years. The problem of anti-Semitism is not only significant in Europe and in the Middle East. It is important in the whole world.
Racism exists practically in all countries, but in certain places it is especially common. For example the ‘American South’. Some of the very common reasons for racism to arise are fear. In some cases racism can generate such an enormous amount of anger that it can cause a war. The thing that causes this anger is mainly fear. Fear that the stranger will hurt you or take your house or your job because he is black and different from you. You don’t know who this stranger is, and he doesn’t know you but to get away from the stranger by racism is not a good thing. To fight racism we can try to know each other and learn nore about each other’s cultures, not fight with each other or say words that hurt each other’s feelings. We have got to share each other’s joys, but also learn that we often have the same problems and worries.
As you can see from the points, racism is not natural and not necessary for people and nations to maintain their identity. Racism is caused by people’s fears. Therefore they try to reduce this fear by racism but it is not the best way to do this. We can get to know each other and try to understand how it would feel when we were in their situation. A good solution for racism can be respect and understanding people, fighting never solves a problem, it makes it worse. Finally we all come from the same place and we are all the same kind no matter of skin colour or the place of birth. Everyone has their own uniqueness and personalities which can never be changed.
