AXE!                    There had been 72 brutal killings that we know of and probably many more in the quiet town of Sleepy Willow. When I was given the case I pictured two or three murders, when I read the case file I was stunned to learn how many murders there actually was. I grabbed the file and my jacket then went home to get an early night so I could start early in the morning. I didn’t get to sleep the whole night I kept having nightmares about my past. I haven’t seen my shrink in a few weeks I think I should make a new appointment. I took my pills got in my car and set off to the cop station. Everything went dark, I was younger, a piercing scream entered my head, I opened my eyes and quickly swerved my car to avoid an oncoming van. I went into my office and sat at my desk, I started work on my new case as I thought about the myth behind it. As I looked at the words I just kept thinking about the brutal killings. I listened to the radio to try and take my mind off the killings but my thoughts just kept straying back to them. After I had read the case file I got a coffee and listened to a calming CD in my office. When the CD finished I read one of the officer’s reports on the murders, the malicious thing behind the incidents had killed the brave officer, I badly wanted to catch the crook behind all of it. The report mentioned a cold, red, shallow pair of soulless eyes. As

I read on I kept picturing the glaring eyes of the killer, they seemed to hold the truth to everything he had done, they contained the screams of the poor innocent souls that he had horribly extinguished. The eyes seemed really familiar; they somehow reminded me of my disturbing past. As I read the report I seemed to be delving deeper and deeper into my previously forgotten past. I took a breather to clear my head and took a couple of my pills then got back to work. After I read the report I phoned one of my contacts, he ...
