However, Hurricane Hits England uses personification and an extended metaphor to represent the persona’s strong feeling of the cultural turmoil she is inflicted with.Firstly, Agard makes use of structure to depict his strong feelings. The lack of simple punctuation and grammar connotes to the reader the defiance in him which is explicitly shown through the structure of the poem. The poem follows no set form-as in there is no particular pattern of stanza’s or line length. This implies that he is trying to say. This could be because although he confronts people about the injustice that he faces, here are still people with big stereotypical views that we have to sort out first. This means that Agard cannot change the views of the entire human race as he is human also; but he can give them an insight into how he feels about being ‘Half-Caste’.
