Half-Caste uses imagery to cast the reader into a spell of educational ranting and persuasion, trying to make his strong feelings known. However, Hurricane Hits England uses personification and an extended metaphor to represent the persona’s strong feeling of the cultural turmoil she is inflicted with.Firstly, Agard makes use of structure to depict his strong feelings. The lack of simple punctuation and grammar connotes to the reader the defiance in him which is explicitly shown through the structure of the poem. The poem follows no set form-as in there is no particular pattern of stanza’s or line length. This implies that he is trying to say.
