They impacted on the ocean; the impact broke the plane into two.
As the water penetrated the cabin, the air pressure decreased; there were screams from the passengers, he un fastened his seat belt and began to swim to the surface, he was lost, worried and was in fear of his life. When to got the surface he was exhausted, he drifted to the island; when he looked back all he had for light was the burning oil on top of the water, he could taste the fumes he fell asleep in a daze of confusion.
When he woke up the next morning from a rough dream, he had sand from head to toe it was golden orange; however it sort of sparkled in the strong rays of the sun.
As he looked at the ocean it was a beautiful marina blue with curls of waves smashing against the sharp rocks, it was clear; you could see the multicoloured corals. As he turned he came across vast amounts of thick green area mostly populated with palm trees. He was petrified, still shaken from the plane crash; his back was burning as he hadn’t realised the baking heat of the sun.
A coconut dropped out of the tree, the tree was 30 feet high, he could see the drips it was leaking; as it impacted on the hard rock there was a crack, he wondered how to open the coconut he then remembered he had a knife in his pocket from the plane. He stabbed the coconut repeatedly it gushed with juice; the juice was ice cold considering the baking heat of the island. He ventured for more food or even a cool place for shade.
He realised the heat of the sun and used his glasses as a magnifying glass to light the coconut fibre he had saved earlier He shouted with great joy he had made fire, but no heard. He was alone.
However on the beach he found vacuum packed food from the plane and miniature shots of alcohol. But he didn’t drink them he saved them because being in the army had taught him how to survive if injured and alcohol was an antiseptic. That night he heated the vacuum packed meal with the use of sea water, it was scrumptious as he was starving after not eating in days.
He didn’t even waste the water: he drank it because it was sterilised and safe to drink. He started to make a SOS sign on the beach to see if anyone was there to rescue him. He also made a big fire, and covered with leaves to make smoke; so his location was clear.
He had cold shivers running down his spine as he didn’t know if they could see, he listened with anticipation, he glanced at a boat so he hastily piled more wood, on the fire so they might see him; he knew they were looking for him as the planes have tracking on them. The rescue team had seen his fire and sped towards the island by the time they had found his location, the darkness was lifting, and dawn broke underneath clouds he was safe and rescued.
But this was a trip to be remembered for the rest of his life, and he will think twice about plane trips again.
