Scene: Act 2 (from page 69 to page 73)

Character: Alice

State how you would act this out refer to voice, gesture, relationship and information about the play that is relevant.

In this essay I am portraying the part of Alice who is a very fair-minded person and for all her soft-centered self-indulgent outlook is in fact a strong women.

        My first line 'Do you usually come into people's houses without knocking?' is to Rita. I would say this with a tone of outrage in my voice. As Rita thinks she could get away with this sort of bad mannered attitude, to show that I'm not going to let her get away with anything and to show who's boss in the house I would put my hand on my hip and look down my nose at her. I would step back to show her how shocked I am that she could be so rude and unruly.

        My next line 'We're not having this! Where does she think she is?' is also aimed at Rita. I would say this in an extremely shocked, loud and clear voice to show her that what I'm saying is what I mean. To show my anger towards her I would take a step towards her and hold my chin up high to show I'm higher than her in the sense that I've got a better life than her and that she should respect me. 'Where does she think shes is?' I would aim at Billy. I would look at him in disgust because even though he wasn't the one who was rude enough to walk into someone elses house without knocking afterall it is one of his girlfriends.

        After that I say 'No, but I think you'll go out, young lady. And if you've anything to say to my son you'd better just remember where you are.' I would say this with a definate tone in my voice to make sure she learns her lesson and does not be rude in my house again. 'And if you've anything to say to my son you'd better just remember where you are' I would say this with a sense of menace in my voice and near closer to her at the same time with my head and eyebrows raised so ...
