Client: Detective Katie Kirk Location: Sanford Forest, South London. The female body was found curled up in a bin liner

Description of body:  Mrs. Sue Hampton, who has been identified as a 70yr old lady, lived on her own in Apple tree cottage. She was of a quite a stocky build around 4ft 5. She had short curly grey hair and was wearing a black skirt and grey top at the time, all of which were bloodstained. She had red marks to the neck and wrists. She also had multiple cuts and bruises to the face, which were quite severe. This may suggest her killer used a knife or some sort of weapon.

Clues:

• Mrs. Hampton’s killer had dropped his baseball cap near to the house, which suggests he was running quickly to escape from someone, so they didn’t see him. Or someone possibly disturbed him in the house.

• Mrs. Hampton must’ve of fell or been forced to the floor at approximately 7.15 p.m. as her watch was found smashed by the side of her on the floor, along with other belongings.

• One of the windows was smashed, so it was obvious that the burglar/killer had to force his way inside. So it wasn’t as if the door had been left open, so anyone could walk in.

• Mrs. Hampton had probably been seen as an easy target, an old frail lady living on her own in a cottage in the middle of no where. Somebody must’ve been to the forest before, because they knew exactly where everything was in the forest and cottage even. This was no ordinary murder, this had been precisely and carefully planned for a long time.

• The killer must’ve of known Mrs. Hampton was a wealthy lady. As all of her jewellery had been stolen and her purse was completely empty. Her possessions like her phone and radio were scattered all over the floor. Also her jewellery had been locked up, and needed a key to be opened, someone knew where it was.
