Dear Michael Fabiani,

I am troubled by the intent of your show Jersey Shore and the “reality” it is exhibiting. I contest the show, for it is degrading and misleading; merely deceiving its audience into thinking partying, drinking, and having sex are commodities that do not have consequences and should not be taken seriously. As you know, that is not true and each of these has gravitas that should be accounted for. The issue I am most concerned about is the exploitation of human persons and their dignity.

I don’t find it justifiable blazoning this lifestyle of living merely out of one’s emotions and feelings. Have you ever thought about the dangers of this not only for the cast themselves but for the future? What is going out to a club, bringing a different girl back home on a daily basis to have sex with them and then calling her a cab during the middle of the night saying about our society? What’s the reasoning for portraying this message? The show makes it seem as if women are merely toys, to be used and then thrown out. I ...
