I was at the door of the house, as I lifted my finger towards the doorbell I heard a shriek from inside the house. It was like the house was calling me in. So I slowly opened the creaky door - it felt wet and dirty and the handle was hanging off by one screw. When the door was fully opened I felt a dreadful smell rush by my nose, it was like one hundred rotten corpses. The smell was disgusting. I did not want to keep on going but I felt as though I had no choice, so I entered the house. I was shaking with fear inside, my blood was rushing through my veins and I felt my temperature rising. My face was drowning in my own sweat, my eyes could not stop moving they were looking everywhere with fear that someone may have been watching. I had never been so scared in my life; I had just realised why it smelt so revolting – I was standing in a graveyard...
Everyplace in sight was covered with dead bodies, there were piles of them; their blood was the red blanket that enveloped the floor. I felt sick. Making sure my feet would not touch the corpses or skeletons, I continued my ghastly journey.
All that was in sight was a damp, old looking door at the far end of the room, so I began to walk towards it. Hesitantly reaching for the handle my hands began to quiver; my heart beat faster and then, at that particular moment... I sensed it – something was following me. My body was being overwhelmed by fear, it became harder for me to breathe and hoping to find an exit I grabbed the handle. I jumped with fear when something grabbed onto my right leg. I swallowed and felt sweat drip down the side of my face. I could not stop shaking then slowly bowing my head, while trying not to move the rest of my body; I saw a wounded hand with a firm grip on my leg. Something tells me it was a sign that walking further would mean entering a realm of impending doom. The fear overwhelmed me and I could think no longer, so I kicked the hand and ran into the room.
“Aaaaah”, there was another shriek but this time it felt closer, it was as though the creature was right next to me so I turned to look behind me , next to me, above me, every angle possible, but I saw nothing. My whole body was shivering, my mind filled up with fright and began to experience a feeling felt in the presence of dementors- the feeling that Harry Potter felt when his soul was being ripped out, the feeling superman gets around kryptonite and the feeling students get before exams... I just waited, waited for the moment when I could pull out my wand and use the Patronas charm or the moment when superman would swoop in and save me, but that was not going to happen and I knew it. That’s why there was only one thing I could do and that was to keep hoping and to keep faith, but both hope and faith were not strong enough to overcome my fear. I just wished that I had never entered the gates and that none of this had happened but it was too late.”Why is this happening to me? Why did I enter those gates? Why can’t I be at home?” Hoping this was all a dream, I shut my eyes and tried to fill up with joy and happiness and tried to make myself believe that the house was not real, but as many times as I attempted this I felt all the fear rush back.
“Aaaaaaaaaaaah”...there it was again my eyes shot open and I was certain this was real! The screams were excruciating and all the walls began to grow closer and closer until it was hard to breathe. I am still in this house and I can feel all the fear rushing back to me. My heart is racing, my sight is blurred, I have lost my sense of hearing and I am running up and down (I am panicking).what do I do? All the doors are closing and they are blocking all the possible exits, I feel like I am being held captive. The corpses are regaining life and I fear what will happen next...
