I am writing on behalf of all the concerned citizens of Malmesbury in regard to the opportunistic graffiti problem plaguing our historic town. We have recently suffered a great deal of vandalism across many properties within our town.

Middle

Aik Saath is an organisation in Slough that has paid graffiti artists to paint a mural in a style of graffiti which is acceptable to the public. Graffiti can be very artist colourful and can brighten up an area which can enable the community to feel empathy towards the graffiti artist's feeling. And help to promote and foster positive relationships across different sections of the local community. There are some disadvantages to graffiti, this usually is where the artwork is less artistic and more like tagging, here the graffiti artist generally just puts their initials or very often swear words in spray paints and usually buildings bridges and any random building that takes their fancy. ...read more.

Conclusion

It would allow the youth a positive method of expressing themselves which could be valued rather than the dismissive attitude we have towards it. I am writing to the council to request that they consider taking my comments on board When planning for the needs of our community. I feel that it is important that the local graffiti artist should be involved in a project which they can take pride in and have owner ship of. And hopefully this will help to resolve the problem we currently have with random graffiti and tagging.
