Also I thought that the images that I used were appropriate for each of the slides that I chose. For example if you the second slide which I name “Remember…” I used a finger sticking up, but it had a good effect because it caught the attention of the people.
This is another one of the slides that I feel were really good because it caught the attention of the audience with its use of graphics. It shows a picture of ex-Arsenal captain Patrick Viera and ex-Manchester United captain Roy Keane squaring up to each other, trying to stand up for their respective teams, and if you think about it they demonstrated leadership skills, although in a slightly violent way.
Another thing that I did really good with my presentation is that I used notes appropriately. When giving a presentation it is very important to minimal writing on each slide, therefore meaning that you should write notes somewhere, and I did that.
Having mentioned all of the improvements that, I must state that it was not all good and positive about the presentation. So in the next section of the assignment I will start to talk about what went good about the presentation. Although I would like to say in advance that there isn’t much that I need to mention here.
One of the things that I could have improved on the presentation was my verbal communication to the audience. I felt that I did speak clearly but not clear enough to be heard clearly at the back of the classroom. Also just to further prove this point one of the feedbacks that I received mentioned that I did not speak clearly to begin with.
Another thing that I could have done better was my question and answer session. I felt that the thing that I did wrong here was not think about what questions that I would be asked, and what happened was that I started to think long about the answer as I was standing, so I felt that this could have been improved as well
Feedback:
As I was doing my presentation the audience were writing down there own feedback of my presentation. They were basically judging what I could do better and what was already good about my presentation.
I will show you a couple of feedbacks from the people who gave me feedback. The first person I will show is Gilbert’s feedback. This is what he had to say about my presentation:
“Thumbs up! Ali H did well; I like how his presentation was presented. I like his examples that he made with his presentation. Ali did very well and he spoke clearly to the audiences, which made a good impression to the audiences. Overall, I liked his presentation. But me, I actually like a presentation…”
So as you can see he thought that I did really well in my presentation. To be honest he reflected what I thought about it as well.
The next person is Emily’s feedback and this is what she had to say about my presentation:
“Ali H voice was not that clear to begin with but as he went on his voice became clearer, his presentation was clear to see and understand; he had eye contact with the audience.”
Just like Gilbert Emily thought I did really well as well, and again I believe that it is a fair assessment as well.
Improvements:
In this section of the evaluation, I will like to mention some things which I feel I could have improved. I will be basing these on the feedback of the above people and also how I feel I could improve.
The first thing that I feel I could have improved on in the presentation, based on what Emily had to say, was that I should have kept a good clear voice to begin with and finish off with that as well. Making sure that your audience hear you is very important if you are going to give a presentation, or else the audience will not know what you are saying.
Another thing I could have improved on is that I could have been more dynamic in the presentation instead of being static. I feel this is because a presentation can be more effective if you are less static. I also feel that it gives a bit confidence to the presenter, and it keeps the audience engaged.
