People all around me seemed to be in a hurry. I got of the Underground at 53rd street and walked up the stairs. I looked around for signs to the World Trade Centre, but I found none. My eyes were immediately attracted to the yellow cabs and the people that were crossing the roads; there was a maximum of two people per car. I walked over to a policeman and asked him for directions. He directed “left then second right and it’s in front of you”  

I stared up at the West tower it seemed to go on for infinity. The fluffy white clouds that past gave the effect that the tower was falling. The sun shone brightly and glimmers of light cascaded through the windows onto some of the roads surrounding the towers. I walked towards the revolving doors; there was already quite a long queue, where the metal detectors were. I took in a deep breath, and clenched my briefcase. A man clipped my briefcase as I walked towards the revolving doors.

I took a deep breath and walked in but was immediately pulled out by a hurried business man in a dark suit; he turned and glared at me. I tried again, but was caught inside the revolving doors this time because too many people were in it. I got out; to help the more hurried people get in. Besides I wasn’t in a hurry, I had time to spare. I walked out of the cue to the normal doors and walked thorough, a few other people followed. I went to the telephones I put a 50cent piece in and dialled ...
