Stage three scenes from Romeo and Juliet.

Romeo and Juliet

The three scenes that I have chosen from the story of Romeo and Juliet to present up as modern scenes are:

Scene one- Capulet’s ball
Scene two-Tybalt’s death, Verona beach.
Scene three- Capulet’s crypt ( death of Paris, Romeo and Juliet )

I will stage these three scenes as future / modern versions of the original film.

To do this I will say how characters will be wearing modern clothes to show the time when the story is set and I will different types of special effects , such as, Sounds when at the time of dramatic scenes, or when dramatic scene is about to approach. Also the special effects can be used for lighting effects and to produce storms which can also be used during dramatic scenes such as when Romeo finds Juliet dead and when at the time of duels ( fights ) between the two families, Montague and Capulet’s.

Scene one, The Capulet’s ball.

This is the scene when the Capulet’s hold a ball at their home and Romeo decides to walk in and to join in without permission from the Capulet’s.

The reason for Romeo going to the ball is to see Roseline, the girl he is currently in love with but while he is there he sets sight on another girl, Juliet the daughter of the Capulet’s.

Scene two, Tybalt’s death, Verona beach.

This is the scene when Tybalt chooses to fight ( have a duels ) with Romeo, but Romeo chooses not to, both groups of people, ...

Scene one, The Capulet’s ball.

This is the scene when the Capulet’s hold a ball at their home and Romeo decides to walk in and to join in without permission from the Capulet’s.

The reason for Romeo going to the ball is to see Roseline, the girl he is currently in love with but while he is there he sets sight on another girl, Juliet the daughter of the Capulet’s.

Scene two, Tybalt’s death, Verona beach.

This is the scene when Tybalt chooses to fight ( have a duels ) with Romeo, but Romeo chooses not to, both groups of people, from Montague and Capulet are around and many words are exchanged between them and due to this, Tybalt fires his gun, and Romeo’s friend Mercutio happens to get killed as he saves Romeo’s life by jumping in front of him.

Romeo then goes to seek revenge over Tybalt and kills him for what he has done.

Scene three, Capulet’s crypt ( death of Romeo, Paris, and Juliet )

This is the scene when Juliet fakes her death after taking a potion / solution which to kill her ( put her into a deep sleep ) for a short amount of time. Juliet’s body is in the Capulet’s crypt, and Paris is sitting beside her.

Romeo enters and then both Romeo and Paris begin to fight. Paris dies and Romeo cant stand to see his only love lying dead.

Romeo decides to kill himself, at that point Juliet wakes up, and finds Romeo lying there, they both speak for a short while and then Juliet then kills herself.

Relationship between the characters:

Romeo- A Montague who falls in love with Juliet, the daughter of a Capulet.

Juliet- A Capulet who falls in love with a Romeo, the son of a Montague.

Mercutio- a very good and loyal friend of Romeo, and the cousin to the prince.

Benvilo- a very good friend of Romeo.

Tybalt- A Capulet, the cousin to Juliet and also hates all Montague’s.

Paris- the one who is to marry Juliet.

Special effects:

As I would be staging these scenes in a modern view, to help me to this I would include different types of special effects. The types of special effects that I will be including are:

Lighting, sound, storm effects etc.

The costumes that will be worn by the characters will be more modern.

For the scene of the ball, the characters will be wearing more modern clothes and the costume for this scene will be a suite / dress.

For the scene of Tybalt’s death, they characters for both parties will be wearing more modern casual clothes.

For the scene of Capulet’s crypt, the characters will be dressed in modern clothes, the costume for this scene will be a suite / dress.
