I was walking  up the spiral staircase holding a brightly flamed candle. The flame was a tongue feeding on any oxygen it could find. As I walked the floorboards screeched with pain. I couldn’t do this, I had to go back, but a fierce force seemed to make me move forwards. I couldn’t escape. beating drum. The air was bitter and damp, the frost pierced into my skin. There was whispering coming from one of the rooms. I gently stepped of the top stair as quietly as possible; I didn’t want anyone to hear me. I silently creped to the room labelled ‘room 94’. I was sure the whispering was coming from here. Curiously I peeked into the room from the corner of my eye, very carefully. My arms trembled and my heart beat with tremendous power. I caught a glimpse of what the room enclosed.
