They don't find Gatsby, but the library, where Jordan and Nick meet a drunk man talking about the realism of the books. Leaving the house and sitting down on a table, Nick meets Gatsby, not knowing it is him (p.44). Conclusion

Jordan tells him to call him, and Nick leaves. Outside he meets the drunk man he had met earlier in the library, having an accident with his car (p.50). In the end of chapter three, Nick talks about his normal life. He likes New York, works there, has a girlfriend for a short period of time. After having lost sight of Jordan, he meets her again in Summer, now being a golf champion. Nick realizes he is one of the few honest people he had ever known. ...read more.
