The Trap

Hi. I’m John. I’m so excited do you know why? No, well I’ll tell you, it’s because it’s just a few short hours away from when I will be on a first-class plane to Egypt with my Mum, Dad and my best friend Elizabeth she’s a real genius at History top of the class. She can read hieroglyphics and knows nearly all the Egyptian Kings and Queens so she will be very helpful when we are exploring. Mum’s frantic she’s running round the house sorting everything out. Well Mum’s calling I’ll be back soon.

Right I’m back. I’m now on the plane I’m so excited it’s so cool in first-class, the stewards and stewardesses come round with drinks and food it is so cool. I’d better have a sleep because I’m going to need all the energy I can get when we land in Egypt. Next time I write it will be when Elizabeth and I are exploring.

We’re walking through one of the sandy deserts of Egypt, we see something shining in the sand and we walk cautiously towards it, nearly there…. aaarggggh. We have fallen through ...

We’re walking through one of the sandy deserts of Egypt, we see something shining in the sand and we walk cautiously towards it, nearly there…. aaarggggh. We have fallen through some sort off pit. Elizabeth lights a match we see pictures and hieroglyphics on the wall we put two and two together and we realise, we are in an ancient Egyptian burial chamber. Elizabeth is excited but the thought that is going through my mind is how are we going to get out. We start to explore we follow the path of some people in pictures pointing in different directions we turn the last corner and then finally we see some light we’re relieved and start to run. We’re running as fast as we can then we hear the ground rumble it starts to split no, no, nooooooo.

Yet again we’re in a pit but the good side was that our landing was a lot softer. We look around and see that we are in a square room with no doors or windows the only source of light is from the blazing sun above us. An awful scraping sound greets our ears, it takes us a while to realise but then it hits us the walls are closing in. I quickly scanned the room the only things in here was a picture on the floor of two people in a circle and a rope leading to the ceiling…THE ROPE I call Elizabeth over I go first I tug the rope to make sure it is strong it is barely I begin to pull myself up but the rope is too weak it snaps and I fall to the ground and scream, Elizabeth doesn’t seem to hear me she is studying the picture on the floor. Elizabeth calls me over and tells me to jump on the circle with her, I’m puzzled but I do as she says we start to jump…once…twice….CRACK. The floor breaks and we slide down a chute. We find ourselves in another room we hear the wind whistling outside there must be a sand storm. I feel a draught so I spin around to see were it is coming from I look up and find out it was coming from an open window I look underneath it, the wall was full of holes it would be easy to climb. Elizabeth comes over we begin to climb when we got to the top we look out and we see our hotel.

Once the sandstorm had finished we climbed down and ran to our hotel when mum asked us where we had been we just said that we had been exploring we decided not to tell her about our adventure, even if we did she probably wouldn’t believe use after all would you?
