This essay is about Banquo, the ghost from Macbeth and Hamlet’s father, the ghost in Hamlet. I am going to compare and contrast these two ghosts. I am going to state three points about these two ghosts.

My first point is that they were both murdered. Banquo was stabbed to death by two assassins hired by Macbeth. While Hamlet’s father was poisoned by his brother Claudius. So both of these murders were committed by different methods. Also both these murders were established for greedy purposes. Banquo was murdered because Macbeth thought that Banquo’s son Fleance was a threat to his throne. But Hamlet’s father’s was murdered by his brother Claudius so that he could become king. That is my first point.

My next point is about how the ghosts’ appearance was. When Banquo’s ghost appeared at Macbeth’s feast he was covered in blood and cuts. His face was drenched in blood. While Hamlet’s father’s ghost appeared at the battlements he was very angry and his face was reeking with revenge. But he had no blood or cuts. So Banquo’s ghost shows that his murder was very vicious while Hamlet’s father’s ghost showed his murder was very clean and was done very stealthily.
