Extracts from this document...

Introduction

What can we tell about Lady Macbeth's character from her behaviour in Act1 Scenes 6&7 In this essay I will be intending to show that Lady Macbeth is: manipulative, two faced, cold, ruthless and cunning lady . In scene 6 Lady Macbeth welcomes Duncan with profound loyalty and flatters him, she appears a gracious and loyal host. She makes Duncan feel as if he is I good hands and that she has worked hard to prepare the banquet in his honour. However the real reason she has prepared it is so that Duncan wouldn't suspect that she wants him killed. As soon as Duncan enters Lady Macbeth greets him with. "All our service, in every point twice done and then done double" Lady Macbeth Act1 Scene6 Lines:15-16 Then she says: "Your Servants ever" Lady Macbeth Act1 Scene6 Line 27 "To make audit at ...read more.

As we shall make our grief's and clamour roar" Lady Macbeth Act1 Scene7 Lines:77-78 She is so ruthless she doesn't mind her husband murdering people and other people getting the blame - she knows that these servants will be killed as well but that doesn't worry her. In this essay I have hopefully shown how manipulative, two faced, cold, ruthless and cunning she really is towards Macbeth and others, how she managed to wrap Macbeth round her finger and get him to do what she wanted , in order to make him be crowned king. She did what she thought would be the best thing for her and her husband Macbeth ,she didn't think or care about what would happen to other people, she was just thinking of herself.
