During the feast Tybalt realised a Montague was in his house and was furious when his uncle tells him to ignore it.
Romeo and Juliet declare their love for one another and decide to marry. Friar Lawrence agrees to marry them as he thinks it might bring the families together. Now I personally think that what Friar Lawrence did was a very stupid thing to do Even though he meant well, his actions where not the right thing to do at the time when both families had pure hatred for one another.
This has now taken the focus of attention off the parents of the two families and directed it in the way of Friar Lawrence.
In act three Tybalts comes to pick a fight with Romeo. Romeo avoids the fight, so Mercutio fights instead and is killed, when Romeo realises Mercutio is dead he is so angry he chases after Tybalt and after a short fight Romeo kills him.
After that incident Romeo is banished.
Now you could say that the reason Romeo was banished was because of Tybalt, but then again if Romeo did not attended the fest held at the Capulet’s then Tybalt would not have been so angry with Romeo.
Juliet then agrees to marry Paris and in turn agrees to take a poison which will put her to sleep given to her by Friar Lawrence. This is just turning out to be obvious as too who is to blame for the tragedy.
Balthasar has seen Juliet dead and informs Romeo straight away, while Friar Lawerence tries to send word to Romeo explaining what is going on, but unfortunately this message does not reach him in time.
At this part in the play, you kind of realise that what ever happens, rests on the Friars shoulders.
Romeo then buys poison rushes back to Verona and takes it in front of Juliet’s resting body, when Juliet wakes up she realises her love is dead so she kills her self with Romeos dagger.
Looking back over this story I notice that Friar Laurence means well all the time, and just wants the Montague’s and Capulet’s to come together as friends. He thinks that if he can get Romeo and Juliet together, then he can make the parents friends again.
So I think the Friar Laurence is the cause of the death of the two start crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet.
