Sophie

5 years old

Physical Description:
Sophie is 108cm tall and weighs 17kg. This is about average for a child of her age. She has a rounded face and a small button nose. Sophie has dark brown hair, dark eyes and dark skin.

Personality:
Sophie is a very quiet little girl but is very friendly. She is not very confident and doesn't like trying new things e.g. jumping from one step then moving further up the stairs to jump. Sophie is not very confident when she meets someone for the first time, but as she gets used to them she starts talking more.

Home/Local Environment:
Sophie lives with her mum and dad. She is an only child so has her own bedroom. She enjoys playing on her own as she is used to it. Sophie's parent's buy her plenty of equipment to do what she loves best which is painting, drawing, learning how to read and learning how to write. She has a climbing frame in the back garden which she rarely uses as she prefers to play using her creative skills. Sophie lives in a very pleasent area which is not very polluted and their are plenty of tree's and parks around.

Physical Development:
Gross Motor Skills:
Sophie's gross motor skills are average for her age. She can run upstairs, touch her toes, kick a ball and skip. Although Sophie has a bike she chooses not to ride it so she has not yet learnt to ride one.

Fine Motor Skills:
Sophie's fine motor skills are above average for her age. She can sew stitches well and thread a needle.

Intellectual Development:
Sophie's intellectual skills are above average for her age. She can write her own name well and is eager to learn new words to write. She is learning to spell the basic words at the moment e.g. cat, cow, dog. Sophie can do complex puzzles and almost count up to 30.

Cognitive Development:
Sophie's cognitive development is also above average for her age. She enjoys using her imagination skills when playing with people and has an excellent memory. Sophie is very good at concentrating for long periods of time.

Emotional Development:
Sophie's emotional skills are not so good. She cannot yet explain how she is feeling when she is upset, angry or happy. Sophie has trouble being separated from her parents for weekends when she goes to her grandparents, although she see's them regularly she finds it hard to leave her mum and dad for a couple of days.

Social Development:
Sophie's social development is reasonably good. She is very polite and always remembers her 'pleases' and 'thank you's' when speaking to adults or when she is asking for something e.g. "can i have a drink please?". Sophie is not very confident when she meets new people and is very quiet as i experienced but once she gets used to you she opens up a bit.
