 2. Using some of the causes in the list and explainedhow both long-term and short-term causes contributed to Hitler’s rise to power.

Long term cause is a cause which causes an event but it happens a long time before the event, on the other hand a short-term cause also causes an event but it happens shortly before the event. The dividing line between long-term causes and short-term causes is about 5 years before Hitler rise to power; around 1928. This is because the events after 1928 caused a drastic change in Nazi's popularity in a very short time, and the events before 1928 did cause a change on Nazi's popularity but it was a change that took a long time.

Short-term causes such as, The Munich Putsch, Hitler's oratory, personality and leadership and the decision by Papen and Hindenburgto appoint him as chancellor, caused Hitler come to power. Firstly, the Munich Putsch caused the rise to power because it taught Hitler and the Nazis that violence wasn't the better way of getting to power, because they didn't have the most important element, the poulation support, it also gave fame to Hitler which used his trial to be known to the German people. In his trial he wrote a book called mein kampf(my struggle) here he showed the German people his ideas and that they had to fight toghether.

Hitler’s oratory, personality and leadership was also very important as without Hitler's ability to speak and convince and lead an audience, he couldn’t have come to power,because he knew how to appear to people, he gave them what they wanted to hear. He was very carismatic he convinced the German people that the November criminals were anti-patriots and that they didn’t care about the Germans.

The decision by Papen and Hindenburg to appoint him as chancellor is the most important short-term cause.This is different from all the other causes because, it was because of his strong personality that ...
