Why did the communists win the civil war?

The first reason that the communists won the civil war was that they were united by a strong ideology (what they believed in).

The communists all believed in the same political ideas and worked well together .The communists believed that everyone was equal even Noble men and peasants were considered the same in terms of social status.  The followed the views of Karl Marx a highly respected communist. He taught communists not to hide their goals and aims. He enforced the idea of the countries to become a communist country. It was because of their communist views they won popularity with the working class and peasants. The peasants wanted land distributed between them and Lenin (the communists) would be able to do that if they were in power. They had superior morale, largely due to Trotsky’s skills as a motivator and an organiser but in contrast the whites had many different ideas about what they wanted and often argued. The whites did not have one aim and were unwilling to sacrifice their individual interests in order to form a united anti-Bolshevik front. This brought the reason why the communists won the civil war because it made them popular and also because they knew what they were revolting about.

The second reason that the communists won the civil war was that the Bolsheviks (communists) had better leaders. Lenin was a strong leader for all Russia and Trotsky organised the red army very efficiently. Trotsky was the chairman of the military Revolutionary Committee. Trotsky formed his new army and turned it into a feared fighting force. They controlled the industrial centres and the extensive railway networks, which enabled the reds to rush supplies and troops to any part of their front under threat.
