    Witnesses said the shots came from the sixth floor of the Texas Schoolbook Depository. Later the police found a bolt-action rifle and shell casings near an open window on the sixth floor. This is where Oswald worked. Supposedly after the shooting he left the building and went to his house about one mile away form the scene of the crime.
