Microsoft Excel
Excel displays information about function arguments as users build a new formula. Users can easily track results of multiple cells even when they are working on a different sheet or workbook. This prevents users from having to switch back and forth or scroll between sheets to keep track of important data. With Excel, you can enter formulas, format cells, use autofill, and calculate sums.
Proposed solution justified
I will use Microsoft Excel as a resolution because it the most useful and has all the features which are applicable in order for me to create a good and sufficient system.
The user will be able to have a list of products with the prices. They can calculate the sum which a customer needs to pay. Graphs can be displayed to show the weekly, monthly or annual business income and profits. Thereafter, for the use of the customer, a receipt can be printed showing the items and their prices.
Microsoft Excel will allow me to create a system so that the business can be organized with their data and calculations. It is a reliable system and will produce results very easily and efficiently.

Appropriate hardware identified
My system will require the following hardware:
-
A visual display unit, often called simply a monitor or display, is a piece of electrical equipment which displays images generated from the video output of devices such as computers, without producing a permanent record. The monitor comprises the display device, simple circuitry to generate and format a picture from video sent by the signals source, and usually an enclosure.

In normal usage, the keyboard is used to type text or numbers into a word processor, text editor or other program.

In computing, a mouse is a pointing device that functions by detecting two-dimensional motion relative to its supporting surface. Physically, a mouse consists of an object held under one of the user's hands, with one or more buttons. It sometimes features other elements, such as "wheels", which allow the user to perform various system-dependent operations, or extra buttons or features can add more control or dimensional input. The mouse's motion typically translates into the motion of a pointer on a display, which allows for fine control of a Graphical User Interface.

The central processing unit, or CPU, is that part of a computer which executes software program instructions. In older computers this circuitry was formerly on several printed circuit boards, but in PCs is a single integrated circuit. Nearly all PCs contain a type of CPU known as a microprocessor. The microprocessor often plugs into the motherboard using one of many different types of sockets.

In computing, a printer is a peripheral which produces a hard copy (permanent human-readable text and/or graphics) of documents stored in electronic form, usually on physical print
media such as paper or transparencies. Many printers are primarily used as local peripherals, and are attached by a printer cable or, in most new printers, a USB cable to a computer which serves as a document source. It achieves a hard copy of a given document.

Data required and method of collection
The data required for the system:
- Food items
- Prices of items
- Total price for customer’s receipt
- Weekly and monthly income
- table and graphs displaying income and profits made
I will get this data from the manager who will provide me with a file of all the previous business information. This will enable me to input all the data for the system.
Data input explained, validation
I will input the data by using the information from the business file which I was provided with by the manager of Eastern Pride, Mr. Rajesh Patel. Using that, I will type in text and numbers by using the keyboard, and a mouse to click when necessary.
To ensure that everything is valid, I will check the format, the range to see if a number isn’t too big or small, presence check for checking if a price has been entered for the items and also spell check.
Flow diagram
Alternative methods of output and justified choice
The screen will show the user a list of items with the prices, and before printing out the receipt, they will be able to view it.
In computing, a printer is a peripheral which produces a hard copy (permanent human-readable text and/or graphics) of documents stored in electronic form.
I will use a printer as it will print the receipt for the customer after they have purchased the items of choice.
Backup strategy identified
Backup refers to making copies of data so that additional copies may be restored in case of a data loss event.
While creating the system, I will keep a copy at the workplace and also a copy on my USB drive so that I have a copy which I can use if anything ever happens to the computers and all the data in the workplace. It will remain safe and can be used whenever needed.
Security strategy
Data can be lost, corrupted, altered, deleted and even hacked into by unauthorised users. To ensure that the work and documents aren’t tampered with, I will use passwords so that access to data by anyone other than me, is restricted. And also, I can log off or lock terminals when the computer isn’t being used and keep files on my personal USB which no one else uses.

User feedback
Dear _________,
I am writing this letter in order to inform you of my personal thoughts and opinions on the designs you showed me.
Firstly, I’d like to mention that, on the pages for the system, instead of having the logo on the top corner, I think it would look better if you put the business name in the top centre. And for the receipt, I want the items to be left align and the prices to be align right. And also, miss a line after the list of prices and leave it for the total amount.
Thank you
Mr. Rajesh Patel
