What I set to do was create a database to make a quick and efficient system to rent out DVD's and Videos and to keep a neat profile on my customers who rent out them out. In doing so this was very successful due to the fact that the database had so many advantages such as being able to update my borrowing log so easily and adding new films to the companies large stock of films. The technical difficulties I encountered were my floppy disc drive was unable to read my extensive work, which delayed me, but I over came this by moving to another computer then I accessed my data, which worked perfectly. I also encountered using the relationship tables was slightly difficult because you couldn't search between more than two table limited the variety to search for data. I overcame this by specifying this in the criteria e.g. Running time I also found linking my tables a little difficult because I accidentally linked the wrong tables but I corrected this by linking them properly, which worked well. ...read more.

After clicking ok name your Database in the file name option, then click create. Creating a Table in Design View To create a table in design view click create table in design view. After doing this enter the fields you want to create by simply typing in the given space. To change the data type you want you click in the data type box change it to your desired preference. Creating Relationships (Linking Relationships) To link your tables you click on relationships then link the necessary tables you want to link. After doing your relationships it should look something like this. Creating a Sort To create a sort you can go to queries then click create query in design view. After clicking on create query in the design view you can make a sort simply clicking on the sort area and either choose ascending or descending. Creating a simple search To create a simple search click create query in design view.
