My recording sheet will be made in publisher because it is easy to use and it will give the recording sheets a more professional look. I will produce to A4 printouts. On the first printout it will be a recording sheet for a track event.

On the second printout it will be a recording sheet for a track event. I am producing a recording sheet for 'Year 8 Boys Long Jump'. At the top of the A4 there will be a title, which shows what event the sheet, will be used for. I will add a text box and add the title 'Year 8 Boys Long Jump'. I will underline the title by clicking on the 'u' at the top of the screen. I then made the title bold by clicking on the 'b' at the top of the screen. The text in the text box will be set to font size 26. The page will be printed landscape. In the centre of the page I will insert a table by clicking on the 'table frame tool' at the side of the screen. The table will have 8 columns and 9 rows. The surname will be bold and in capital and the house name will also be in bold and in capitals. The table will be outlined with a black border. I will import the names of competitors from excel into publisher.

I have decided to make it this way because it will look professional, it will be clear and easy for the judges to understand. The will also be enough room for the judges to write the addition information in. The table will make it easy for the amount of points for each house to be totalled up. I have decided to put the surnames of the competitors and the house names in bold and in capitals so it will be easy to see. It will also make it quicker when totalling up the final points. I decided to set out the recording sheet in the layout I did because the B.S.A booklet states that for I track event the recording sheet must have 6 columns. (First name, Surname, House, Time, Position, Points.) And it must have 9 rows for each competitor. It also states that for a field event the recording sheet must have 8 columns. (First name, Surname, House, Attempt 1, 2 and 3, Position and Points.)

2. Must be able to do complex searches. Eg to find all year 7 girls taking part I the 100m.

D5. Testing Plan

I will manually search for all the competitors in the 'Girls Year 7 100m' and all the competitors in the 'Boys Year 8 Long Jump' so I could find out who is taking part in each event.

I will then search for the same information electronically using Excel and I should get the same results.
