This graph show the year 10s height (X axes) plotted against the weight (Y axes). From this graph you can see it has a positive correlation and most of the results are close to the line of best fit. However you can see one result is a lot heavier that what the line of best fit says. For the person of 1.54 metres in height, the person should weight 50 kilograms when in fact he weights 66 kilograms.

    is a connection between height and arm span, and that Year 11 Pupils are almost square. There are some points which are outliers and do not fit the correlation, but I do believe that these data are genuine because I was there when the data was collected and not everyone will be square.

  2. Conduct an investigation comparing height and weight from pupils in Mayfield School.

    The correlation being positive but not very strong indicates that it is likely that the taller you are, the more your likely to weigh, but not for all students. This is the general case, however there are a freak results such as the girl who weighs 47kg, but is only 119cm tall.

    are greater for boys than for girls. The range of height is slightly greater for girls than boys. This could be a reason for the results. The mode was also close with the girls having the same amount of pupils in both 150=h<160, 160=h<170 intervals.
