GCSE Maths
Handling Data Coursework
Read all about it.
Introduction.
In this coursework I will be collecting data from two contrasting newspapers. The newspapers I am collecting data from are The Sunday Express and The Daily Mail. I will randomly pick 100 words one after the other from a random page to collect my data from.
Plan.
The data I am going to collect will be from two contrasting newspapers. To pick the first newspaper I will put the names of newspapers into a hat and then make a random selection. To choose the second newspaper I am going to just pick a newspaper, which contrasts with the first.
I am going to pick a random page from each newspaper and then randomly select 100 words one after the other from each.
As I am going to randomly select my data it will be fair. When collecting the data I am not going to include numbers and when I come across hyphenated words I am going to count them as two words.
